Having decided to replace front hubs & CVs I have a question regarding spacers.
The manual tells me to remove, clean & refit a spacer on the shaft splines inboard of the CV. When I stripped down the front OS, however, no spacer to be found!
A search of spares providers shows me spacer pt.no. TYF000010 RTC5841, but states only D1. No spacer is listed for the Discovery 2, and it isn't shown in the parts catalogue.
The hub appeared not to have been apart since new, so faced with needing to return the monster torque wrench in the morning I have rebuilt the OS as found, with no spacer. Problem came when I tore down the NS shaft just now to be greeted with sight of a spacer. Imagine my 'joy' at that sight. Things got very impolite for a while!
So my question is, should both 1/2 shafts on a Disco 2 V8 have spacers? I will rebuild the NS tonight with spacer, but any enlightenment welcomed.
