Disco 2 D2 Brake hard line and fittings size?

Howdy,

I need to run new hard brake lines to the back of my D2. I haven't got access to it at the moment to measure, can anyone confirm the diameter of pipe i need to buy? 3/16? And are the fittings to the flexible hoses metric?

You will need a roll of 25ft (7.6m) copper nickel (90/10) tubing to replace all the brake lines. Diameter is 3/16". As for the fittings, these are M10 x 1mm IIRC.

Use Kunifer instead of copper.

Do you need to replace the whole line ? Why not splice in a repair section ?

Yeah, unfortunately, a couple of the fittings didn't want to let go. Some previous owner or other replaced the solid lines to the back, did a **** poor job, and didn't bother using the clips on the chassis to secure them. They also, for some reason, decided to put a compression fitting joiner in the middle of each line which is no bueno on brakes AFAIK

I've got new flexi hoses all round so might as well do it properly!

Compression fittings, quite right, an absolute no.

When I did my rear brake pipes I had to cut the pipe to get it across to the driver side rear but used an in line brake pipe joiner, double ended female coupler, also I did not measure the pipe I installed it over long the used a insitu brake pipe feral tool to finish off and make the connections

I just spliced in a section on the daughters Kia, as the end nut had rusted to the pipe. A normal machine mart flare wouldnt touch the steel line, but I have a hydraulic flare tool, which made it a very easy job.... I did look at replacing the whole line, but it ran front to back.....
