cv joint

Hi, i need to replace a cv joint on my 97 300tdi are the joints that paddocks supply ok or should i look elsewhere. cheers elt.

I'd steer clear of britpart doh unless you want to do the job again in a few months

sorry to jump the thread but does anyone know where i can get a pair of gkn hardy spicer cv's at a reasonable price?
from personable experience i agree to stear clear of britpart for anything to do with the mechanics/running gear of your landy,i would only use britpart for accesseries

I've tried 2 and they both gave way on peoples motors making it look like I had fitted them wrong or done something wrong

yes britpart do gkn rtc3458 for £12 and larger rtc3346 gkn for £6

right now we have sorted out the uj problem, is there any chance some body could answer my original post cheers elt.

it's been answered

i meant genuine gkn hardy spicer,they do a standard or heavy duty cv but cant find anywhere that supplies them

I would personally give britpart moving parts a miss. I havent used the cv joint admittedly but have had generally bad experience with the stuff I HAVE used that had moving bits.....but I am not working in a garage and dont do much except my families vehicles nowadays so someone with a broader experience might know better. Also I have found Paddocks service has gone down in an inverse relation to their prices....which have gone up.Again, I would be inclined to have a look elsewhere.Island are talked up a lot, M&M likewise and John Craddock knows what he is doing,they say !

How did I crash the one in the avatar,James? Black ice,corner,tree,upside down vehicle in tree....Im sure you ave heard similar before ! Head ,knee,arm injuries,not too serious....but the bastard insurance git assess or cnut wouldnt let me buy my (formerly) luvverly ES back for the interior and all the extra kit I had put on. And shafted me on the price as there was one available in aberdeen or somewhere else at the other end of the country for half what the others were going for . And I was getting desperate after 4 weeks of waiting....and he knew it. But am I bitter ?
