Hi all.

I know I haven't posted for a while, but have been off the grid with new job, and much other stuff. However, would be very grateful for some pointers on a couple of random issues with my D1.

1. Starts fine in the morning. However, after driving any distance, if I then turn ignition off and then go to start it again, it won't turn over. Usually by gently coaxing the key in the barrel and with an few attempts it then starts but the time it takes to make it start again each time is getting longer. Lights come up in dash as normal buy just won't turn over. I'm thinking stater motor or immobiliser. Any thoughts? Has had new ignition barrell.

2. Sometimes when I lock the car with the fob, all the door lock pins immediately pop back up again and I get two beeps from the alarm. Sometimes if it does stay locked, if you simply pull on the door handle, all doors unlock themselves. Very frustrating.

3. I recently fitted boomslang wiring loom and all was fine. However, last night noticed that if i select side lights or normal headlights on the stick I just get headlights. It won't let me just have sidelights. Plus when I turn my headlights off, my interior light flashes dimly once. Don't get that at all.

Think that's all !!!!!!! Sorry it's a long post but hopefully someone would like something to get their teeth into on a Saturday morning.

Again, so for reappearing with nothing but questions. Now I have a better IT set up at home, after frazzling my OHs laptop, I hope to be able to add some pics of progress on my D1 soon.

Thanks for reading. Have a great day.

H.

1. Could be iffy spider immobiliser or as simple as an iffy connection at the starter motor or faulty solenoid.
2. A slight adjustment of the master actuator in drivers door should sort this.
3. Recheck your workmanship if this has happened since you fitted the loom, earth connections especially as you have the interior light issue.

Also if it's not got a fuse box in engine bay it is worth checking the fusible links. I had one go/ corrode caused no end of intermittent electrical faults with my disco 1 200tdi.

Easy enough to check and rule out.
