Everning all. I just got a 97 D1 300tdi recently (my second) and the intermittent wipers don't work. The two speeds work as does the single wipe. Any ideas? Not the end of the world but would like to get to bottom of it when I've gotten over all the other nigglies! :D All fuses good except the adjustable mirrors fuse. Replaced that. Worked for a bit then blew again. Cheers and good day.

The D1s multi function unit (MFU) looks after the windscreen wiper sweep delay, so that particular circuit may be iffy, the MFU also handles among other things the delay of the interior lighting, also it has a test function the procedure for that is in various LR forums workshop manua.

The10amp fuse no.18 protects circuits for the electric mirror adjustment, also protects tailgate wash/wipe and cruise control, so issues with these could blow that fuse.

Thanks buddy!

The MFU probably directly triggers the relay in the drivers footwell (RHD). My relay was faulty - replaced and intermittent came back.
Ah. Yes. Relay. I never thought of that. The older I get the more I seem to forget. I'm going to have a look this weekend. Been busy since the OP.
Cheers.

Hello, my 1998 2 door has just literally had this issue, worked yesterday morning, didn't work in the afternoon. which relay in the footwell could be at fault?

Thanks
Its coloured green if its original and positioned on the end of the bottom row of three, also a green petrol pump relay is in the RH footwell.

I don’t think the number of doors the vehicle has will make any difference. 🤔

Hi, thanks, was unsure if it would make any difference, one never knows. I'll have a look once it has stopped raining (met office reckons it is sunny). This one is a Tdi so hopefully will find the correct one.

Has anyone tried this one? On Rimmer Bros site, listed under Discovery 1 (all models) though the description of the functionality is for a different system application.

Wiper Relay Programmable Delay - LR057366PROG

"Fit this new relay in place of the standard AMR2341 (or LR057366) to your vehicle to solve this problem . Once fitted you press the stalk down so that the wiper wipes and then back off again, now count/wait till you want another wipe, switch the stalk down and leave it on, this timing will now remain constant till you set another timing the same way or turn off the ignition at which point the relay reverts to a standard 6 second wipe interval. Another bonus is that the wipers will now only wipe once following a short burst of washer fluid or 3 times after a long burst."
