Thought I'd start a new thread, so as not to confuse!

Cowm has pay n play days the last sunday of each month.
I have already penned sunday 30th January on the calender, so the missus knows.
Plan to go with my mate Rob.
Was good fun in the snow and ice last time I went before xmas.....Should think it'll be nice n muddy this time:D

Anyone else planning a trip to Cowm on 30th?

Nope :(

I'm Tong in feb I think.

Was interesting at cowm when it was frozen, but if its thawed this time round there is some serious mud to be found.

Look for the higher ground (obv it's a quarry so the low bits have been dug out) as that's where you'll find the real mud. If you cast your eyes across the cowm horizon you will see areas high up that are near to the fences - those relatively small areas are pure peat bog. Great fun for driving but you'll need lots of help from an unstuck motor!!

Cheers

Sounds good fun. Yeah, I will start off doing the easy route and watch where others are gettin stuck first!....though this time I will be wearing waders!

All being well, I hope to go back to Tong in Feb too, and with a bit of luck and judgement car will run better this time. Will have to see how I get on at Cowm first :)

Alright stu yeah, should be a good group of landyzone going in feb.

See you in a few weeks stu.

Best of luck in the water Joe! At least you might find it will misfire and not totally cut out maybe!

Cheers

Yeah, hope so (just mis and not cut out)...I've decided on moving the ECU up under the dash. Far easier and does not involve cutting / lengthening wiring (I hate cutting into old car looms...old wiring has a habit of biting me in the backside!)

will be good fun anyways! :)

gutted!!!!
now got a gig on sundays from 3pm in hudds... gonna take me hour an half to get over there an set my gear up, so gonna have to set off from home at alf 1...
so i got no chance of gettin to cowm an back before alf 12 (gotta wash mud off an load my gear in disco b4 i set off)..
looks like im limited to parkwood 9.30 til 12.15!!!
but ya cant turn down work!!! need to money to pay for all the bits needed for disco's and the disco....

might try push it til 4pm start.. get an extra hour of play...

Can't turn down work Nick, so don't blame you....

Will be at Cowm, but to be honest really looking forward to Parkwood too and will probably be there (my first impression was its a lot better organised than Cowm anyways).

Will probably be seriously muddy at Cowm, so you'd have a challenge to get it cleaned up in time.
See you about chap.

cheers, Joe

yeah an with all that mud i'd really need to get some new tyres..
am lookin but not having much success..
have a good day m8..
did ya get the new dizzy on yet?

Cowm is a 150 acre quarry, massive site.

You've got huge hills, rock crawls, deep water and uber mud sections too.

It's actually a superbly varied and spacious site. No trees so minimal winching.

I really like the place.

Start at ten, arrive when you like.

Yes it's marshalled, the way it should be. Not that you'd be doing anything naughty anyway...?

brilliant i have never been to a pay and play day done alot of laning,
di they do check on your motor or yourself, not that the motor is not up to standard

yeh,you have to take your insurance and m.o.t for them to check alls ok,it is a good site, take it steady at 1st though, you will enjoy

Thye have a website, cowmleisure, which will help.

Stuff begins to happen about 10am. after a bacon sarnie from the on site van.

Marshalls lead everyone around the easy route first in a long line, then everyone breaks off after the first circuit of the course to do their chosen routes; different colour flags according to how easy or difficult you want it to be.

I'll be doing a couple of circuits of the easier stuff, then gradually start to do some bits that are a little more challenging...that way, if anything happens to the vehicle atleast I've already had a bit of off roading fun (that theory went out of the window at my last outing and I ended up flooding the ECU & ignition, so didn't drive as much of the course as I would've wanted).
If unsure about anything don't do it!.... or atleast watch to see if anyone else does it before you. Common sense I guess.
I nearly hit some idiot last time who decided to stop and chat to his mate at the top of a blind hill top, so don't assume the coast is clear if you cant see it is.
Keep plenty of space around you , and if you get stuck don't worry, someone usually turns up to pull you out, as long as you are prepared to get out and get muddy too!

Don't mean to patronise....these are just a couple of things I picked up from the couple of times I've been out.

Don't forget your insurance n drivers licence, and have fun!

see you there?!
