Ever since i let my wife drive the rangie on a regular basis, my courtesy light has never come on when you open the door. It comes on if i push the button, but stays on. Any trick to getting it to come on when the door is opened and go off with it closed?

Pain in the a.. more than anything. Not exactly up there with head gaskets gone! thankfully. for some reason the p38 seems to be giving me a break, going on for 7 months without problems (since replacing HG's!). Touch wood and all that

cheers

:D:Dlesson to be learnt, don't lend the range rover to your wife. she's off on maternity, and i thought, ok it'll be easier transporting two kids around with it. Trouble is, she's falling in love with it and won't give it back!!!

on the upside, she hated it before cause all it did was break and cost money! now she sees why it's the best vehicle on the road!

we only get married to stop you nagging. it's only after that we realise it doesn't stop it, the nagging just changes subject!! :D

That's why we've got a disco each. although i do get 'what have you broke?' when i'e driven his, even if it's just to the shops!lol
it is so much easier chucking kids in and out of a higher car (we've got 3 kids). so much so i hijacked the first disco Dean bought and got rid of my mondeo! it took him a year to find another disco at the right price etc so he could have one..

see the trouble you women cause!!! but i suppose its all down to if we all drove land rovers/range rovers then there wouldn't be other cars on the road cause everyone would fall in love with them...

more to the point, anyone know how to sort the courtesy light?

I have had similar problem. Try to disconnect battery, it has worked for me. I did that and the interior light was okay after that.
And do not let the wife drive again....:p

Have a look in the hand book, it should tell you the courtesy lights can be set to work or not via the dash display, i would get my book out of the car to check but its pi##ing down!!!

Rewmer is absolutely right. Press and hold the interior light button for about 5 seconds. A message will display in the dash to say lights activated. Mine did it last week for some reason, fine again now....

Thanks guys. Sorry, haven't been able to get on, broke the computer. Worked perfectly, just hold the button. Thing is, this just proves that when i asked the wife, did she know anything about the lights not working, she was lying - the damn message centre would have told her! I'll have to have words....

If only all fixes were this simple! Although i had suspected it was something simple

Cheers

The only thing a woman sees in a vehicle is the fuel light. When that comes on, she gives it you back to fill up again.:D:D:D
