Hi ive recently discovered that my P38 ive had for 9 years has some corrosion on the electrical multiplugs, behind the kick panel in passenger footwell and the OBD connector plub causing a green colored build up ! its impossible to get inside the plug so need some ideas on a spray or liquid that will remove and stop further corrosion

Electrical contact cleaner to get it working and clean and then vaseline as a moisture barrier.

plus 1 on the electrical contact cleaner and use a new clean unused tooth brush to get in there and give it a good clean i wouldnt use the vaseline tho better of with plastcote spray or similar all on the shelf at your local maplins but dont spray the plasticote into the obd socket directly

You might want to consider doing away with the connector. Cut it off and solder and heat shrink the cables. As for the OBD socket you could buy and fit a replacement.

Thanks Guys im going to Maplins today and will let you know how i get on with the multi plug, Ive tried cleaned the OBD connector with no luck ! I will try once more but if that does not work I will follow advice and fit a replacement but that will have to be second hand as LR Dealer says part not available ! Needs to be done as my Lap Top has stopped connecting, also tried my mechanics fault reading computer which has also stopped

You can buy new OBD connectors on Ebay with or without a length of cable attached for less than £10.
As suggested, cut, solder & heatshrink the wires behind the kick panel.

+1 for cutting and soldering.. i tried and cleaned and tried again.. just keep getting errors...
spend an hr.. cut them all 1 by 1 and solder and heat shrink... job done..
