Hello out there I need to bleed my cooling system on my disco td5.i get all the slacken bleed screw and raise expansion tank but do I run it with the cap removed from the expansion tank to remove air bubbles.do I need to reach running temp.if so do I tighten bleed screw before running I asume the bleed screw would be on its way to the moon if you run it with it slackened. Read the manual on top of advice already recived from landyzone members. Can anyone please advise.

When ever i have refilled my fender td5 never had a problem, undo the plastic screw on the right hand side pipe, top up through expansion bottle ,when coolant comes out of screw your done. I did not run mine as I filled up, took it for a run after then checked level. may be different on a disco though.

good practice is to fill the system with tank lifted untill fluid flows out through the bleed hole then refit the tank(cap off as to top op if required) tigthen partially back the bleed screw and keep the revs avove 1500rpm untill no bubbles are coming out there(this way the bypass valve opens in the thermostat)... TIGHTEN WELL the cap and go for a ride untill the gauge comes to the middle then partially open again the bleed screw ...when the fluid is bubble-less top up if needed and you-re done
