Good evening,

I've made quite a bit of progress today. The 12J is now out and the TDi is fully prepared and ready to drop in and all so far with no snags. The only slightly annoying thing was having to take the floor panels up in order to get the transmission tunnel out. The floor panels have been self tapped over the lip of the tunnel so it all had to come up in order to come out. I can say that my engine was mated to the bell housing by any more than seven studs, I was quite shocked! I haven't taken any pictures because it was raining most of the day and I wanted to make progress rather than electrifying myself! I'll try and get some tomorrow though.

The clutch is in good condition (I've had it off to check) and there's no oil weeping from the rear oil seal so I'm going to leave it be. I can't wait to get it in!

The only problem I'm goign to have is patience for my funds to increase again :( Luckily Sean's got my back covered with a decent intercooler (thank you Sean!) but my radiator is pretty much buggered. Then again it didnt leak so it might do for now until I can afford to get a new one. I need to get a Steve Parker down pipe as well as a front pipe and a reducer to fit my side exit exhaust system which is 51MM. I've decided that the slight bore restriction at the end of the pipe isn't going to cause any major problems because it's a straight through system with no inline restrictions such as silencers / cats etc.

All being well It'll be up and running by early next week. I'm pretty much packed out for the rest of this week :(

I would re think your exhaust if your other exhaust was from an Na. The Disco pipe is huge well about 65mm I think

the cooler's in a box ready for the post tomorrow

using the standard 19J exhaust on a 200 works very well - unfortunately the n/a exhaust is a bit too restricted (in it's standard form) so don't expect to much of a kick in the back, be careful that the manifold doesn't over heated when pushed and that the turbo doesn't spool up way too late

Thanks very much :D I'll get the proper pipe work in that case. I'd be fitting a Steve Parker down pipe and a 200tdi front pipe, its just the stainless steel flexi joints to my side exit hole that are 51MM. I'll sell them and buy a couple of new bits. Simples :) Is the 19J exhaust any thicker than that in an N/A?

Is it only about a tenner!? It cost Patman about 60 did it not?

if he paid 60 squid he was well and truly ripped off

best to go in on a Saturday morning, or when there's only one bloke in there and offer him the cash - plead poverty and they usually do it for the price of a drink

I'm going to dig up his thread and check I wasn't dreaming! i've already been on the phone to them. They said bring it in so they can have a look - so I will. Do you reckon those pipes on ebay would fit though? Or does a 300tdi sit a lot further forward as standard?
