Hi all
My daughter put £9 of unleaded in her diesel motor and then put 40 ltrs of derv on top.
Thinking this would be ok it turns out the car doesn't like it so I've drained about 26ltrs of petrol diesel so if anyone wants this it's free to anyone who collects before I dump it.

What vehicle is it? A 200 or 300tdi should be ok with it just waz some cooking oil in the mix

next time you fill with derv, stick 5 lts of it in. it'll dilute it right down.

we used to put petrol in derv to winterise it before we came up with chemical gubbins btw

putting petrol in a diesel will make it run bad, but petrol will compress, so no real damage will be done, as trax says keep topping up the diesel to dilute any remaining petrol.

putting diesel in a petrol is the bad one because diesel won't ignite, or not anywhere near as easily as petrol

Up to 20% petrol is unlikely to do any harm in a diesel, mate just did it in a Mitsi 3.5 tonne hire truck on the way from Holland with no ill effects. The sensors in the DPF & Cat did throw a fault but they cleared on the next fill of diesel.
