Disco 4 (LR4) Console conversion

I’m curious so could be completely stupid for asking however.
A disco 4 2010 which has a gear lever six speed auto. Can I convert to a 2013 pre facelift centre console with the dial compared to the gear stick ? If I can’t that’s fine buuuuuut if it’s doable I fancy playing. so has anyone tried it ? They are both 6 speed autos so I can’t see why apart from the feeling of a manual auto box selector to an electronic one what the difference is ?

I think you will find the dial is 8 speed.

Iirc, the 6 speed auto is cable operated, with a mechanical connection to release or activate the parking pawl. The 8 speed is servo operated, so there's no way to control the parking pawl on the 6 speed box out, if the 8 speed electrical rotary control is used.

Tbh I’m not bothered I just ordered a new steering wheel and it came with flappy paddles so I thought if I can convert I will
