Though i would start a new thread on this, it gets confusing otherwise

Ok i bypassed the bloody thing directly from the battery, and they both work, so its either some frigging sensor, or the wirings not plumbed in right. anyone have any SENSIBLE (this excludes Briggsy) on what to do next? dam im so crap at leccy stuff

think logically, its basically a supply, switch and motor. the air con pump is working isnt it, i imagine the fans wont run if the pump isnt going. (what car is it again? my p38 doesnt have any leccy fans just the big daft thing attached to the engine, or if it has i aint seen em)

i tested my condensor fans by turning a/c to lo after i removed the viscous fan and left the car idling after no time at all they kicked in the engine temp never moved from centre but keep your eye on it. I don't think i have ever seen or heard them come in otherwise but reassuring to know they work although they barely shift any air compared with the viscous.

The problem im getting now is, the a/c isn't getting cold enough in this warmer weather, so that's why im looking at the twin fans on the front, as you drive along, it gets a little colder from the air movement, but my fans are not kicking in

probably wants re gassing how cold are the pipes next to the compressor mine get that cold condensation forms also the front fans shift so little air compared with the viscous i doubt it will make a drastic difference

Had it gassed about 2 months ago, im sure its not that, it works fine when its colder, but not in hotter weather

is there a way(well there is) you can put a thermometer in the car, take a temp reading and then leave it running and take another reading say 20 mins after? i know with heating in houses everything is based on a temp rise. i.e if the cold water is 5 deg c then the boiler will raise the temp by30 to reach 35 and thats what is quoted in manuals etc but if its 2 deg it will only get it to 32. if you follow me on that???

i'm just saying maybe it is working and the car thinks its fine???

if the fans are there instead of the viscous unit then it could be the water temp sensor???

been looking through rave and it seems they all have the 2 fans, mine have been removed for some reason!!

Cant be done, its a closed sealed system, and as soon as you open the expansion tank, the water will boil over, apart from the risk of burning yourself, i would think you would be liable to over heat the engine and all that entails

i meant in the car cab, to see how much the ac is dropping the temp in a given time???

have you got rave, there is a lot of pictures of the system components and locations on section 82(page??) you might have to go round testing em with a multimeter.
