It was about a decade ago now, and the old grey matter isn't as good as it was. I have a feeling I soldered the old unit into the new puml. I don't remember it being a difficult job, as I'd have remembered better if it was.
Cut the wires on the new sensor and while stripping it bare for connection, the end came out where it connects to the plug connector pin at the top of the pump. I was told not to attempt to remove them as they are soecially keyed to not be removeable - however, all of them released easy, so i just reoved the old sensor and connected it to the new pump. No need to cut or solder at all.....job is done ! Thankyou so much again Nodge ! If i stumbled upon a pub and new the guy accross the room was you, i'd get you a single malt dram and a pint of black to go with it ! Respect. Thanks again, high regards, arnodafe72 thanks to you all.

Oops ! Hi again Nodge ! Ha ha ! Fuel filter sensor fitted in the new pump so the fuel meter in the dash reads right, but now the car is hard to re-fuel at the petrol station.Got the click problem ! So, i remember when cyphoning out the petrol from the tank to filter the fuel and refill the tank, that i clean the inside of the tank first. I remember that i touched something on the inside top part of the tank and was concerned that i moved something or other. Could it have been something to do with the fuel full valve or? Or line that runs to the charcoal filter ? Or more likely, due to the fuel meter having the wrong resistance sensor that showed the wrong fuel level, that i over filled the tank and caused a problem in the charcol evap canister ? And somehow blocked , is causing the click mechanism on the fuel station pump ? What should i do ...? Take pipes apart and see if they are blocked etc ? Please let me know what you think, greatful as ever , arnodafe72

Hi again man - yeah, new light issue after putting new registration plate lights on the trailer and hooking it up to the freelander 1, 1.8L facelift petrol, the position lights (also known as side lights/parking lights) won't work - or the registration plate lights on the car - have continuity on all fuses under the dash and the bulbs are good. What could have gone wrong ? With the trailer disconnected, putting a new bulb and fuse still has no effect......is there any fuses at the rear ? Also just prior to changing the lights on the trailer, i had it welded - could that have done something? Also, as the trailer lights appeared to be wired properly by others, ee thought the problem was in my car - hooking it up to another car caused the same problem, were the position lights are out but the fuses are fine. Please let me know what you think, yours faithfully, arnodafe72
