thanks to all you lads who replied to my thread "condensation" think i might try drilling 2 holes but before i do has anybody ever split the outer plastic lens from the inner then reglued and sealed it, after cleaning it as i have a spare one to try it on,thanks again to you all

sorry hippo, because i know less about computers than i do cars and thats not much, but i am slowly learning , but alas not fast enough for the wizards

Yep, it would be a useful exercise and pics would be good.

I had to replace a rear light unit on the drivers side when I bought my motor last year, as some little 'scrote' had broken the plastic lens cover (smacked the cover with a stone and put a hole in it). I know a place in Newcastle than works with plastics, perspex, etc, so if it is possible to get the lens off and resealed then it might be worthwhile seeing if this company can make a new plastic lens cover. Would save a fortune on replacing the whole unit!

It's more than likely some 'scrote' has smacked the lens cover with a stone, or a small hammer, and put a hole in it. Apparently it's a common thing in cities/urban areas. The little barstewards think it's a larf causing damage like this, with little chance of being caught in the act, as the covers are brittle when old and wont set the alarm off when the cover is 'smacked'!!

re: condensation feedback I am holding back on the plan to split the back light lense it looks a harder job than i thought, spoke to hella this morning but they could not help, next plan tube of clear sealant to go round existing seal and anywhere else it might take any; (will keep you posted)
