Good for you. But...apart from drilling the lock out, can you elaborate on the cause and fix as I, together with a few other members are left puzzled.
Bit like posting "Help-my car won't start" then posting "It's o.k., I've fixed it" and nothing else.

The story goes....
I went to open drivers door when it was locked but ended up pulling the handle off door leaving only lock behind.
I received new handle and set to replacing, got interupted, put old broken one back temporarily but did not re conect clip on rod operating lock so rod came off lock, only way to put back was to take lock off again via bolt on inside of drivers door which was now locked and could not be opened. Fob not unlocking and key not unlocking.
Locksmiths ran away as soon as I mentioned locked out of P38.
Took me 4 days to get in, many said it could not be done.
I will not post details on this site of how to break in to P38.:p

However will help anyone with similar situation when superlocked out.
But dont want all the P38's to suddenly go missing, although would then become rare and poss more valuable.

Hi Marky,

I have a similar problem with my P38. Just about to break the drivers door glass when I read your post. Can you help?

If I were you I would try to avoid frustration and not break any glass as this may get you nowhere.
Turning key to unlock drivers door whilst opnening tailgate is possible resolution. Also entering EKA before trying this
Maybe a few more details of situation would help to answer problem.

i got in mine through the sun roof, what a laugh that was. however without the key i would say you would be fooked, these must be some very hard cars to steal, without a tow truck that is!

Well this is how it happened.

I went away for a couple of weeks and came back to a flat battery. The key did nothing either electronically or by turning it in the lock.

I then backfed some power into the battery via the starter motor in the hope that this would sort the problem. Key code lockout. Waited for the warning to stop and tried the key code. That didn't work.

I managed to get a piece of wire under the button on the drivers door and pull that up, again nothing.

I have just tried the boot release and unlock the drivers door. Again nothing. Any other suggestions?

You will have to enter EKA.
Some tips
1 Ensure your battery is fully charged, it is possible to pull bonnet release cable from under car or located behind grill if needed.
2 Enter EKA but dont keep trying, if it doesnt work 1st time go and have a cuppa then try again, but if you keep trying the poor rangie will get confused.
3 After entering my code 6 or so times I left it for 3 hours, went back and done the open tailgate and unlock drivers door at same time and boot opened, bearing in mind my door rods were not connected to lock and had to enter EKA from outside pushing and pulling door locking rod.
4 You must make sure you are precise when entering code, but I think most importantly if it dont work 1st or 2nd 3rd max time, leave it to settle even if that means overnight.

No tried everything. I have check with local dealer to see if the EKA is correct and it is.

It seems that the EKA is not being recognised. I was under the impression from the dealer that when you enter the first number of the code the indicator should flash. this doen't happen. The EKA code lockout is not showing on the dash either even after entering the wrong number.

Any other ideas?

If its pre 96 just input the code post 96 you needs 4 left turns to accses programing mode

Its a 2001 model and I have been inputing the code as per the book including 4 turns anticlockwise. Time for a chat with the dealer I think.

Is the side light warning light illuminating when you enter the eka codeIt should flash each time you turn the key.If it doesnt then the problem is probably the micro switches in the drivers door lock.If it does then its a becm problem (expensive)
