Hoping someone on here can help, cant find anything searching the forum. The other day the clutch on my 90 just suddenly stopped working, the pedal went straight to the floor, however when the pedal is pushed quickly the clutch works like normal? Tried bleeding it and cracked off the pipe into the master cylinder and fluid is coming out so not sure where to look next? Possibly clutch fork related? Thanks a lot, harry.

does fluid splash back in reservoir when pedals pumped, reservoir full ,they often leak very slowly ,seems you have air due to poor seals or fluid loss

fluid rises but doesn't splash at all, pedal doesn't feel spongy at all like air in the system? either feels like no resistance or when quickly pressed just feels normal. can't see any leaks and it was fine one minute then gone the next?

if pivot had been pushed through release lever pedal normally goes hard after a few pumps or all fluid is lost and no pedal at all .id think your getting air in ,air will get sucked in easier than oil leak out till problem gets worse, check master isnt leaking on pedal and slave is dry behind its gaiter once slave unbolted

no oil on slave or master cylinder, slave doesn't move when pedal pressed slowly but does when its pressed quickly so i presume it's a problem with the master cylinder?

The fact that it will work if you press the pedal quickly sounds like it is a hydraulic problem rather than a mechanical problem to me. The sort of thing that happens if the master or slave cylinder seals aren't working terribly well and are letting fluid past. It's a while since I had one apart but I seem to remember the main seal that takes the pressure is a little cup shaped thing. It's probably getting as bit crisp in its old age and it takes a hard stab at the pedal to get it to grip the sides and make a good seal. Seal kits aren't too dear fortunately, so might be worth a try.

That would make sense! Thanks a lot

Would be worth doing both master and slave and replacing your flexi pipe whilst you're at it if I were you too. The manual recommends replacing all your brake seals and flexible pipes at 48000 miles but I don't think it mentions the clutch for some reason.

For the price of a new master & slave cylinder I personaly would'nt be messing about changing the seals.

Pretty much my attitude when I overhauled my brakes earlier this year. I just bought a new master cylinder so I wouldn't have to mess about with little springs and rubber rings that have to be assembled in surgically clean conditions.
