Clutch pedal issues

The clutch pedal on my 95 defender 110 300tdi is acting oddly. The clutch itself feels fine, engages gears in the same way as normal, no slippage, no stalls. However, the top half of the pedal travel has disappeared, the pedal now doesn't return to its usual "rest" position, it stays half way down unless I flick it back up with my toe.

Is this just the spring on the pedal that's causing the issue? And if so, how do I go about fitting a new one? If it's not the spring, any suggestions.

Could also be an internal leak in the master cylinder. Recently had the wiper seal go on mine. Check for DOT4 around the bell and footwell, may not be obvious...
