seriously considering a clutch claw...anyone ever had one used in anger so to speak(and i dont mean thrown it at a thief!).....had an attempt on their pride and joy to find it still there in the morning? Or more importantly, anyone had a claw fitted only to find an empty space on the driveway?
having had motorbikes/boats/cars go 'walkies'during the night id like to hold onto this one during the current defender epidemic thats sweeping across this once fine land

it's one of those things, you never really know how many times a thief has looked at your pride and joy and decided against it, it's just about making it as awkward as possible. I understand from what I have read that a number of thefts have involved fully immobilised/secure vehicles being lifted or trailered away. You can never mitigate against that. Push comes to shove, they want it, they'll get it.

My sister in law had her 5 year old mazda stolen in a window of 3 hours. Police found it at a local yard in 2 days, and it turns out the guys concerned were just going out with a hiab and pallet, and lifting anything they fancied onto the back of their truck, then stripping it down and selling the parts.

always put one of those steering locks on mine. if for no other reason stops the scam where they order another key using the chassis number which is clearly visible in the windscreen, and then driving it away. Just keep the keys well hidden all the time, just in case some one breaks in.

Yep, me bike has all sorts of things securing it... Not all of them do I tell folk about (if you catch my drift)... There are three mahoosive big ol' chains securing the frame (not wheels) to ground anchors set 18" down into solid concrete, but apparently it's now quite common for tealeafs to come equipped with liquid nitrogen to pour on chains which then require only a small tap to shatter into a thousand and eleventeen bits!

One of these might work better than owt... Alarm Mine 12g Trip Wire

my bike is secure.....both wheels and fairing are off and its up on stands in the garage (winter!).....and the boat is clamped and chained to the fence post whenever its not in use so its purely my 90 that im concerned about at the mo.
I know you cant secure against everything, but beside the usuall alarm/immobilser/steering wheel bar that i have fitted i was just wondering if anyone had had an attempted theft but the clutch claw had saved the day?

shotgun connected to motion detecter just remember to turn off when you go out. if they want it theyl take it whatever.hopefully mine looks to crappy

ooooooooooooo how nice that would be eh!? to have a shotgun carteidge wired into the seat, but sadly we cant do such things,no doubt due to noise abatement regs or something

yip.....and the old gas cylinder/flame thrower under the doors to discourage car jacking is actually a'state approved'mod out there........sadly this country is led by carrot crunchin donkeys

what about hooking it up to 240 volts

a few years ago a friend, fed up of attempted theft of his bike actually wired a copper bar to the light socket in his garage.....which in turn was left to dangle above his bike in the now dark garage.....sadly he never found any dead but it did deter a few over the time he used it

that a great idea lol could think of a few more uses

As someone in the medical business, under no circumstances would i advise people with access to used hypodermic needles to place them under seat cushions pointing up...this would be illegal and cause severe distress to anyone stealing a vehicle as they would be waiting up to 6 months for results of HIV tests....
