urgent info needed ime having my clutch changed by a very experienced mechanic he has re built several freelander engines and hundreds of clutches on different cars etc so changing my clutch should be no problem:confused: all bolts and parts removed split engine and gear box but it wont!!! we have managed to get it about 1" apart but thats it one thing we have noticed is when we are trying to separate the engine from box the clutch arm is staying in one spot if we crowbar the arm it just moves the bell housing back as if its seized to the thrust bearing:eek: any body have any advice please? as said urgent before we decide to take the lot out £££££

presumably release brg has pushed through clutch diaphragm,if so it will eventually break apart ,release brg unless concentric type are only held on loosely
