Hi,
Theres been a car left in my yard for over 6 months now, the owner asked if he could leave it there while he moved house. I rang his old house and was told he had moved and was currently in Spain. I have tried everyway possible to contact this guy but no luck. The cars tax has expired and it has no MOT.

i would like the car myself, is their anything i can do?

Thanks

Yep you can cos me boss did it.You need to contact the DVLA and you have to pay for the paper work which is about £150 I think but they will send out a new V5.But I do think you have to prove the cars not pinched or anything like that. What car is it?

We do a bit of storage, and have had similar probs.

Took advice from the nfu. Provided that all reasonable attemts to contact the owner have come to nothing, you are entitled to sell goods to recover cost's.
We sent recorded delivery letters, and once returned to us, we had the proof of attemted contact.

Best take advice though. But if the car is not worth alot then the chances are this guy aint boverd.

an old defender, i rang the owner and spoke to him once. i wanted to buy the car, but i've tried for months now and can't get hold of him

its only costs £20 quid and send off for a log book in your name, you can get the form from a post office to apply for a log book. have done this many a time regarding reposesions and never had a problem.
