looks like ive upset the owner of this landrover. just had a not so freindly pm from his wife. apparantley ive text them harrassing messages to there phone. and if your reading this, i wouldnt waste my time or money, if i was going to ring or text anybody i would ring the free number 999 and report your ass for having a dodgy landrover!!

Thank you for the recent harassment messages via text to my husband! I have just registered on this site to see what on earth is going on! My husband purchased this landrover almost 2 years ago.....he is an honest man and would never buy a stolen vehicle! The man he bought the vehicle from also had it for 2 years and he said he bought the landrover from a garage! We bought the landrover with all the relevent legal paper work. By all means post what you like on here and get in touch with whom you feel necessery... We bought the this vehicle in good spirits and because we have 2 young boys we have out grown the 3 seater landrover and thought we would sell it on.. We have drove this vehicle on the roads and it was insured all legal!....and may i add that "how stupid do you think we are to advertise a stolen landrover for sale on the massive site eaby!!".... If it is was stolen originally..and that is if! We had absolutley no idea,!!!!

Thank you for completely ruining our evening and upset the family!!

Dear mrs unhappy.
Yu do realise that vehicle is unlikely to gave been made in 1965?
As foy buying it from a garage, that is no respector of legality. Many a stolen motor has been bought legitimately and unknowingly from a genuine garage. There has been a marked increase in stolen landies going on ebay. Those on here are just keeping an eye out. If yours had been stolen, then yu would be grateful.
Texts are, however, uncalled for :(.

Why hasnt you husband registered?

Thank you for explaining things a little, and i assure you we will be looking into this .. but we are gettin messages on ebay and via text, that are accusing us of being theifs...think people dont realise that we are victims here too, we stand to loose alot of money, if what you are saying is true, it has also caused alot of upset!

hi,try not to get to upset over this, some bods jump into things like this feet first without thinking, these blokes all think a great deal of their vehicles.a lot of landys do get stolen and then passed on as a different vehicle by some very dishonest people including garages either knowingly or not.i really do hope that you get this sorted out and that it does not cost you too much money,if any hopefully.:)

Thanks for the post above from "Gemsdad" its nice to here still some trusting people in this world...everyone else on this site (which we have been a member of for 1 night) seem to have jumped in guns blazing, we dont know what on earth is going on, but we are going to get into touch with someone offical and see what they can tell u about the Landrover.

Thanks again for the nice messgae, it has lifted my spirits a little :)

hhmmm....

the plates dont match the vehicle therefore summats up.we go all guns out as regards to these problems as plenty of landys are getting nicked every week and we are at war.sorry if your put out but landys are at war at the moment so noone is exempt from a grilling at gunpoint.....

hope you get to keep it but also someone is missing a landy i believe with the pictures before me...

"nothappy", thanks for registering and hopefully please don't be put off by people putting 2+2 together and coming up with 17. However, your vehicle does have a few anomolies with its identification, it will be interesting to hear how you get on to get to the bottom of this.

Just to let veryone know we have took the Landrover off Ebay pending futhur investigation. We would appreciate a contact number of someone that cam ecome and check this out for us! Thanks to gemsdad and to all the rest of you we would appreciate if you could leave us alone, stop texting, send ebay messages etc....in future i recomend you know the facts before you go around accusing inocent people of being theives.....as you can see its us that its upset, our famiy that is affected and us that will be seriously out of pocket, the actual theif however is probably laughing!!

good luck with the war (above post) and hold off the gunpoint on the inocent!

this is the last we will be saying on the matter, as it is now our mess and our business to sort!

Regards!

A basic check would be to see if it has leaf springs or coil springs. If its coils, then it can't be a standard 1965 chassis. Of course, there's an outside chance that a genuine 1965 chassis was modified to use coil springs, but its unlikely. If that's the case, and with the bodywork looking like a 1980s onwards LR, its probably all from a later car, but with a 1965 identity. This might have been done to avoid road tax, rather than to change the identity of a stolen car.

Thanks Paulc my husband will look at all the above, we are not as familiar with Landys like others on here, so we really need someone offical to tell us what to do next, as we cant sell it, as thats imoral, until we know for sure, although if it stolen we want it gone from our home, even if we do stand to loose alot of money that we really cant afford to. :)

hang on a minute unhappy....

Thanks Paulc, we will keep the genuine people updated

So far it appears that the only person that has suggested that it is stolen is the OP. Everyone else has just stated that "it doesnt look genuine". That doesnt mean it is stolen, just that it is masquerading as something that it isn't.
A lot of landies get modified and a fair few end up looking like yours. That doesnt mean it is stolen, just that it, most likely, shouldnt be sold as a 1965 vehicle.

Calm down a bit and we can help you. keep slagging off those that are highlighting an "anomoly" and you wont get anywhere...... particularly on this site.
