I've had my Series 3 for over a year now and just noticed something a bit odd.
She is already on a galvanised chassis (make unknown) but I notice that on the drivers side front outrigger (one that supports the bulkhead), the support bracket (looks like angle iron) which should go from the chassis rail next to bulkhead bracket to the said outrigger is missing! It has one on the passenger side. There are no signs of it being cut off - just looks like its always been missing on the drivers side. I believe that Series 2 chassis didn't have these anyway but were intriduced on the series 2a for some reason.
Any ideas fellas? I haven't come across any others like this. Never had any mot issues. I notice that many who replace this outrigger don't always weld tis bracket back on anyway.

As it doesn't seem to be an MOT issue, I'm not too worried. Was there any reason why these extra supports were added to the 2a's onwards? Any history of them bending with impacts? Just seems a bit odd. Maybe the chassis was a reject cos of this and a bit cheaper - manufacturer spotted issue after galv process perhaps.

I bought a lovely galv chassis off eBay, a new one that had been standing for a bit. Turns out the nearside engine mount is missing! I can easily believe they can forget other bracketry etc.
