Changing from TD6 to TDV8

Afternoon all,

Due to a recent accident and insurance write off, I'm looking to buy a TDV8 in place of my broken TD6. I'm unfamiliar with any differences between the two and extra things to look for when buying.

Can anyone advise please?

Also, I believe the later model came with the ability to pre-warm the car with the remote - is this a standard mod or add on?

Power mad, not needed in 2.8 tonnes of 4 x 4. If I want power, I take my MR2, 0 to 60 in 7 seconds

That MR2 is slow !

I got taken out in a 700HP Nissan GTR the other night, blimey that was quick !!!!

Blimey is the TDV8 really 300kg heavier than the rest of the L322 fleet

Rover V8 SDI Vanden Plas, remapped, 4 speed autobox, 0-60 in 4 secs.

I wouldn't buy myself the TDV8. Too many problems. The TDV6 is near on bombproof.

Aye but on the wet twisties I could leave Porche 911's, brute power is not everything.

I don't know, but it does come with expensive failures as standard

Most likely will have the pre heater of you get a vogue SE spec

Yes, I think pre-heater on Vogue and above.

However, the TDV8 does suffer injector seal problems.

I heard of a chap close to me that had to have this work done and a bill for 6K!!!

Sorry, simply mad. Takes for ever to get at anything....
