The green alarm/central locking ecu is fitted to the 96MY onwards disco which has passive engine immobilision and two button fobs.

Before that the ecu is black using single button fobs with manual engine immobilision.

As u are still able to start your engine with out a fob u then must have the latter don't u think.

Look at the VIN of your car,if it is MA before the last six numbers you have the wrong box,if it is TA then it should be the correct box.

well that's my luck all the way ..................lol
my chassis No is MA before the last 6 digits so back on the hunt we go .
does any one have some single button fobs up for grabs ????

does anyone need a replacement green box and two button remote ??

First post so be gentle!
I have a very similar problem that I hope someone wiser than me can help with.
I have a '94 disco VIN starts with MA. No keyfob for the immobiliser, suddenly develops an intermittent fault on unlocking with the key, sometimes it immobilises, sometimes it doesn't, always unlocks no problem, then you get dash lights but wont start, no clicks or nothing. Sound familier?

So, I take out the central dash facia to look for the ecu as read on the net, not there! I found the black central locking ecu in the footwell passenger side, and my question is does this also control the immobiliser?? or am I still off the mark. Please help

Thanks in advance

Frustrated in Chester!

Go to the 'Introduce yourself' section and do that ...

and brace your self for the ribbing :D

My mate had an issue with his central locking and not starting, his is an M reg with no key fob.

I took down a spare unit from my garage, the one with the 2 x plugs and push in coax type plug, swapped it over and it all worked again.

I cannot remember the model number now, but it sits behind the glove box.

I've just put a second hand one on (Discovery 1:N REG) and it was AMR2109 but was black in colour. There is another one which is green AMR 6429.Had no central locking, swapped the ecu and yay,all good...well apart form the tailgate.
