I've already said I'm using an ipod :p I'm just a bit of a perfectionist and don't like having something that isn't right. Before it went south I was rarely using CDs but it comes down to it's broken, fix it :)

Mines fecked too - so I just listen to my iPod....

But I know that compulsion to want to fix it as my mind keeps going back to it too!!

So glad it's not just me who gets that niggle :)

mine works perfectly fine. but never use it. I store all my music on an 8GB SD card which the stereo plays off of. :p

Ok where's the icon for thumb on nose and tongue sticking out :p

Press the green button then bang the cassette hard with an object like a screw driver handle the cd stack shelve that is stuck will retract thus ejecting the cassette exactly same as mine !

Thanks but that bit is all sorted. What I need now is an ICE expert who can take the dash apart and replace/repair the unit. I "could" do it myself but I don't have the patience and would probably break a clip or some such. then in my impatience putting it back together I'd end up with a niggley little rattle or squeak.

Mine does this on occasion , I just wiggle the whole cassette mech ( which is suspended within the case) and most of the time it frees off and away you go - this by the way is the same problem I've had with the P38 unit, however the aftermarket sony in our old car worked for years. While on the subject, whats the score with the Alpine CHA-S634 CD changer, which plays MP3 encoded discs and is a direct replacement for the original one? Just having 6 discs is rather boring on a long trip. Also read somthing about getting an ipod to work but you need a special lead and an intravee box? Has anyone done either of these mods and if so have they put them on a post anywhere?
Thanks in advance.

This is what happens when people only read the first post and the last one :p
The 'stuck' issue was sorted ages ago. The reason I nudged the thread and woke it up was because of the reasons I have put here

Thought I'd give this thread a poke and wake it up. Anyone know a decent ICE company, in West of Scotland/Glasgow area, who can take out my CD changer and repair/replace. I've spoken to the main stealer and they are asking silly money and have said it's because they outsource the work. Didn't tell me who they outsource to though :(

and here

I just use the ipod with a transmitter unit. It's not as hi-tech as some of the guys have done but it does the job.

How about you grow a pair, take apart your dash and change the bloody CD changer yourself! Lol

It's easy enough, iv had mine apart loads of times when fitting my audio system

Easier once you have done it before
