Car shakes when first started

Hi All,

I've started to notice a vibration when I first start the car from cold (bmw 4.4 v8). The car shakes initially when stationary and then after a few minutes everything is fine.

The engine isn't vibrating any more that normal.

If I drive before the shaking stops all is fine.... It's an odd one.

Does any one have any thoughts?

A self curing misfire sounds a reasonable explanation.

The M62 in the Bimmer guise suffers from Secondary Air Injection issues that cause lumpy idle from cold...my 735i used to do it, once the SAI pump switched off she ran sweet....

Research on Bimmer forums for the cause, effect and cure....never bothered with mine on the 7'er

You should have??!!??

Unless someone has removed it.....Pipe running across the front of the engine connecting both cylinder banks...runs in front of the water pump??? Valve on the let hand side.....Pump under the air intake!!????

Have to admit, I don't recall you talking about the SAI in your GB thread,.....and at 27 pages, my head will fall off as I scroll through!!

So you don't have the silver pipe about 1/2 - 3/4" diameter running in front of the water pump??

neggars cheggars, nothing, it's page 25 of my oil leak from gearbox epic, if you Google SAI missing L322 there is a couple of other cases.

Yeah i saw that but the lights were so dim couldn't tell who it was. Except he looked big and hairy and i could hear you keep calling him sweetheart. I was with the young blonde girl on the other side of the room.
