Hi ya
The previous owner of my Freelander had a reconditioned engine put in due to the gasket going, how many miles does it have to have before it has to have a new cambelt/chain??

Regards
Lynn

Hi ya.
Its a 1795cc dated 1/11/98, re-con engine put in August 2008 at 87233 miles and done since then 26000 miles.
Thanks for getting back to me
Lynn

So it's a k series, providing cambelt was changed at recon, its good for 70,000 miles( recommended service interval). When changing at that mileage it's best to replace water pump at same time!

Hi ya.
It just says,"advise timing belt teeth missing" RED, then goes onto state "replace engine complete"!! So I take it the timing belt was replaced along with a radiator! I do have to keep an eye on the water level, I've had all the pipes check, and it's not losing water, but was told that if was due to the engine size compared with the size of the water compartment?
Thanks
Lynn
