hi,i am hopeing someone on here can help ,i have bought a cam belt replacement kit and fitted it to engine the problem i am haveing is the cambelt cover will not bolt up at thebottom around the crankshaft there is a gap at the bottom and when bottom pully is on the crank will not turn easyly as the bottom pully is binding on the cam belt cover oil sealthe one with the metal sheathing for the bottom pully, the kit is a britpart item bought from a 4x4 specialist in wales, they have advised me to assemble it all with the crank 0 ring left out as they said it could be getting trapped between the cam pully and the crank,i have tried this and the problem is still there ,the new pulley is slightly thicker than the old one ie.old one is 47mm and new one is 50mm the supplyer says that this is ok and has not had this problem before ,has this happened to anyone else ? also if i use the old pully the problem goes away but i dont like the idea of useing a new belt, tensioner ,and idler and the old crank pully, thanks

friday night..weekend.. not a good time for posting, everyone is ****ed lol

you might get more responses during the week

regarding your question.. dont have a clue

o ring does need fiting behind crank pulley, otherwise it will leak oil, if other pulley is thicker change it it should be the right size exactly

thanks for the relpies, yes forgot its the weekend again flies round:eek:,i agree it should be the same size exactly the supplier has asked me to return the crank cam pully so they can compare it !! up to now though my landy has been off the road due to this cock up for over a week and its looking like it will be off the road for another week also,is this the norm with non fitting parts from britpart ?i wont be in a hurry to purchase there parts again as iv lost faith now.
