Hi wammers,

I believe you are the man to talk to, as i have a problem trying to enter my EKA code.
I start of turning it to the left 4 times and the repeater flashes 4 times,
I start turning to the right to enter 5 times and it flashes only on the first turn and not on the rest, i have made several attempts of this but to of no avail, any ideas.

Many thanks Kaz

Don't know why you asked me this one in particular. All i can say is follow the instructions in the hand book to the letter. If you do it wrong three times, then you cannot do it again for around half an hour, so do it slowly and make sure key is returned to centre each time. If you fluff it first or second time just open and shut door and you get three more goes. So thing to do is if it does not work second time keep opening door and you will not get a half hour lock out. Can take some time to do correctly.

Wammers i thought i was following it to the book,i was carefull, the problem is after i do the 4 to the left, and then go from the center to the right to start the next sequance it only flashes on the first turn and not the rest of that sequance, i thuoght it could be the micro switch in the door catch but as it flashes the first time in the sequance i guess it is working.
And it does this everytime, i have tried to complete the process but still it won"t work just comes up engine disabled.

Many thanks kaz

Isn't it the case on some RR you just need to put the key in the ignition and press the buttons on the fob for it all to synch up?

Maybe, don't know. I like things that have oil on them, electricary is not my strong point. I just about get by with that invention of the devil.

Strange as it may seem Lucas started the exchange unit thing with the B90 setup. Before B90 exchange units came into being, everything, starters, Dynamos Etc were repaired in house by garages. Now exchange units are the norm.

Yes you actually learned how to be a mechanic then, unlike now were you just learn to unbolt old and refit new. :D:D:D

It would help if you told us if the car is petrol or diesel, it's age and the problem you think you have that requires entry of the EKA code, my crystal ball is as reliable as a P38 and is currently not working:jaw:

Thanks for your help wammers.

Datatek, its a 4.6 hse 1996, the problem is the keyfob stoped working no flashing red light on lock/unlock so i had to lock it with the key.
The next morning still nothing on the keyfob so i started the EKA code and the rest is history. i have changed the battery still nothing .
I have orderd a new key 1 from the stealers as mine is a key 2. £160 :jaw:
Thanks for your help

A new fob will not be synced to your vehicle. You cannot sync a fob to your vehicle if the BECM is in an alarmed state. If it is asking for EKA code then it is alarmed.
If you locked with the key and not the fob ,then when you open the vehicle with the key,it should not require you to enter the EKA code.

kaz, the flashing indicators is a bit random. the thing to look for is once you've entered the four digits (ending to the left) and you then turn the key right to unlock, all 4 door locks should pop up and the interior courtesy lights should come on. This means the EKA has been accepted and alarm systems disarmed. Next put your key in the ignition and turn to position 2. Notice if the check engine lamp comes on. If it doesn't it means the BECM and the ECU are not talking to each other and will need a resync which is done using diagnostic equipment although there is also a gizmo on the market (which no doubt someone will come running along to plug) that will do just that and nothing more.

But first change the batteries in your fob. Why make life simple if you can make it complicated, eh?
