1500!!! thats mad!!

arc racing..charged me 400 for billet en whatever nitrided cnc bespoke flywheel..all balanced center hole to take spigot bearing etc...that included them doing cnc programe to my drawings too!

pic you show is harmonic balancer..ie balancing for crank.

i done lots of stupid conversions..sometimes starting again and rethinking can save alot of time and trouble in the long run...ie i giving up on gmc..and fitting supercharged 4.6..better power.torques and mpg..BUT big discesion...loads more work, but in the end better results and better noise!!(think i spelt that wrong..lol (descision))

give arc a ring before commiting to path you going down..you never know might be less than 1500!! i just think its wrong way to go...MY OPPIniON i know..your engine..your car..your choise..

you dont need to get clutch balanced..it should already be so..

late..tired...pm me for phone number if want a chat..interested to talk anyway...

That was a from a UK firm, cant remember who but it was one of the big ones. May try a smaller company and see......but I don't have the time to wait for one from the states at ARC anyway.

It was Bob Harman who I talked to re:flywheel machining as they do a lot of work on american engines and other things and he said that machining the flywheel would be quite safe to do so given that its simply like lightening. I've looked at the back of the flywheel anyway and the weight isn't that big so its not going to remove that much material or affect the wheels structural integrity.

There is a v8 specialist about 15min from me, cant think what the're called, but they seemed good from when I spoke to them and I was recommended them from someone on here.

No pics unfortunately but I've got the engine into safe storage and made a start on dismantling ready for tomorrow

Unfortunately my little puller isn't man enough to remove the harmonic damper on the front so gonna make a few calls in the morning and see if someone local can remove it for me so I can finish dismantling and get the crank to the shop in the afternoon.

Tomorrow night the bell housing adaptor is being cut, so is the gearbox to transfer plate and I will remember pictures

Sump is off and ready to be plasma cut and turned into a rear sump. This was an option on cars up to 64 so mine is at least a 65, just don't know what age it is which is a little bit of a pain! Engine number is present but can't find anything online :(

Got the front diff in, sump off, passenger hub on, bellhousing template made up, exhaust manifold and various other measurements made for adaptors and mounts as well as collected a few bits of steel to make these up over the next couple of days.

Will pick up more steel on saturday and do a bit more heavy stuff then

I did take pics today but I'm far too lazy to upload them now!

No idea.....my mates meant to be making that up for me but I've not heard anything for a while.

If I don't hear anything today I'll order the flange kit for $45 and get it shipped here ASAP so I can make my own. It comes CNC cut so all I need to do is weld it together
