Ok this isn't a how to test it, or how it works thread!

It will move into place using the lever!

Got the top open and the linkages seem to be fine, not got another to compare it to but all the pins and pivots are working.

The arm is moving/twisting when I select locked and unlocked.

Just about to pull the light switch out to see if anything is a miss there but the only thing I can think is that its been put back together wrong by someone before me. As I think the top may have been off at some other time either that of the brummie monkeys didnt put all the rivits and screws in mine!:D

I have tried to push it a bit further over with a big stick and still no luck.

I may try it without the linkage on turning it by hand and see what suprises that brings if I can get my hand down there!

Not got a jack to test it so relying on the light! So test that next me thinks!

Any ideas would be good, if not I think it may be a change of box or Dealership!:doh::doh::eek:

AGGGGGGR!!!

FFS!

Just pulled on the light wires and one has snaped! Cant fit my massive ok fat hands into the small gap! So thought I would give it a love tug!

On a plus side I know the dash bulb is ok and that the wiring worked up to the top of the transfer box! Not sure about the switch yet just need to see if I can get the rest of it out to test it.

I am starting to think that it has to be the dog clutch leg thingie! :p

I got a feeling that this side pannel may have to come off for me to have a look! And see what is going on inside!

I think the sliding bit may be a miss, either the cam on the 13mm spindle that the guy is turning in the video or the sliding thingie is stuck solid.

Who knows.

Anyone know the instructions for rebuilding the top part? (13mm bolt and the plate that the push rods link to that moves left and right looking from the top down <the bit that he has replaced for a spanner in the vid>)I.e. if there is a special way to do it to ensure it is aligned?

The part that I was trying to describe is called:

Differential lock selector finger and shaft

Says check for ware on it when overhauling it! Surley I can't of bought the only one to have been used so much its worn out???

Anyone know how hard and long a job it is to rip the Tbox out and swop it?

Same test I do on the ones that work! Just this one don't.

Jack front drivers wheel up and turn wheel. Then lock the diff and turn again.

I can see the slider moving in the transfer box via the light switch hole. Only I am not sure how far forwards it should go and don't fancy stripping another center dash out to find out! lol

The only thing I can think is that the switch may have been put in too far and been stoping it moving, however I am yet to test this as it got too late. Will try testing it via jack method with the switch out and see if it works!
