Damn thing!

New air bags- the old ones leaked, few months later (now)- new ride height sensors as one side was up in the air the other low.

Now a dash full of lights , ABS, TC, SLS, HDC etc stay on and supension still one sided. I've had enough!

Should I just scrap it, sell it as it is or burn and at least get some satisfaction.

Please anyone help

Dont get mad mate:).... there are only 2 problems> one with the SLS and the well known 3 amigos.......plug in a tester.....that will cure your SLS(a simple recalibration needed if u have new sensors and still uneven)) ..... then acording to what fault u have on the ABS part u'll know what to do(or u'll get answers on this forum);)

There is only one snag here. The thing is tuck on the drive so am unable to get it to my local indy with his auto logic. Is there any way to bypass things to get air in the bag?

Should I call the AA and see if they can reset it? if they can't and there is no other way to get air in the bag I can them get them to low load it to the indy.

It seems u have a problem with a valve then.....i supposed that u get air in both bags just that u get more in one of them..

Once again..... after u replaced everything the car rised just on one side the other remained totally down?

If you put your location in your posts u never know there maybe a disco enthsiast living near you that will help u.
U could sell it to me sounds like a nice little electronic/mechanical project. :)

It might be according to what the problem is.......and how mechanicaly and electricaly minded u are. It helps if u have RAVE too.....i know some tricks to inflate the bags bypassing the slabs ECU but for that u have to know what are we talking about and also to be able to decode my strange/poor english

I'll have a go at anything as at the moment there is nothing to lose.

I live near newport South Wales if there is any kind people with a magic box in my area.

One side (was the highest side) now seems normal (90-100mm from top of tyre to arch) and the other side down to the bottom (wheel inside the arch).

I live in south wales Ieast of Newport), high side now at 90-100mm from top of tyre to arch and the other side right down so wheel inside the arch.

Anyone local got a magic box?

Now sierrafery do u are upsetting my chances of getting a good deal on a D2 project.

And pindie a bit to far 4me, dam :) But dont look at the whole problem and deal with item at a time, u may/will find they are related and by dealing with one may clear the others which one.... I don't know.

Dont give up ok.

Discool will pray to not work i think:D:D

First thing what u can try(i'll put the image below)u have to get access to the compressor housing,,,,,

1. unplug the exhaust valve electrical connector nr.8
2. according to which side is rising disconnect the electrical connector(10 or 17) from that side's air valve and plug it instead of the other one(this one let it hang).....
3. start the engine(with all doors and bonnet closed) and push the ORM switch( now the ECU must command the valve and the compressor to pump air into the bag...from the good part he thinks).....
4. if it rises be vigilent and when its on required height stop the engine through the open window then unplug the compressor's(1) and the air valve's electrical connectors, wait a bit to see if it keeps the air in then jump in the car and go .

...be aware if during this procedure the compressor is working but no elevation stop the engine cos the compressor is not a heavy duty one.

It might work if it's not the valve blocked.....also SLS warning could appear on dash

i must say that i did this on my own car whwn i have a similar issue and it worked(got me home from muddy fields) but its not an official procedure so u do it on your own risk......dont call down the heaven's rage against me if something goes wrong........i just try to help based on my own experience.

Crisis procedure nr2(unfailable and simple): get hold of a big and stong enough piece of some kind of rubber, cut 2 "V"-s in it both sides, jack the bad side and stick it between the axle and the chasis....(to back up the floppy bag....make sure it won't fail out).......u will be able to go slowly untill the garage.

looks like some fun with the valve block for me. The most annoying thing in all of this is I brought this vehicle to replace my trusty 300tdi. This was four years ago and I am still unable to rely on the D2 for work as it always goes wrong. It seems to like steady motorway work and thats it. I would go to Morroco in the 300 even though its done more than 200k, the D2 is a worry going to the shops and its done a quarter of the mileage. I going to fix it and set it free - theres no room for it here.

Hi.

I bought the software from faultmate, my brother has the box already......and i am goining to buy the valve block bypass system which was on ebay for £29.99 (not thoroughly investigated yet) and.........dad had a td5 with a problomatic back end, took it to land rover and they said it was the drivers airbag that was faulty confusing the car !?!?! anyway new airbag fixed the fault....bizarre.

Love your Discovery 3.

Nick.
