Good evening

I'm trying to plan my next project of straightening my battered old bumper and building an A-Bar, however i'm currently 4000 miles away from my Landy.

So if somebody could do me a massive favor please and measure the distance between the 2 outer bumper securing bolt hole centers, i would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance

Just measured the centres of the bolts with bumper off vehicle they are 75cm ctrs for the outer holes and the inner ones are 66cm ctrs
The holes in the brackets welded to the bumper are 19.6mm Dia so plenty of clearance for the standard bolts.

Standard bolts are M10 I have M12 S/S fitted to mine made new captive bolt plates with M12 threads also out of S/S.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Tim

Was very confused there for a minute when i re-read the post again until I noticed that you'd edited it and changed it to metric!

That's a good idea about fitting bigger bolts.

Sorry about that but thought metric more appropriate.

No need to apologize, metric or imperial were both fine, i was just half asleep when I read the message first, then when I read it again at work it had changed and i thought I had dreamt about it being inches!!!

Were you doing any other mods with the bumper off or just changing the bolt size?

The bumper I measured is a spare that I intend to cut up and make rear quarter bumpers. Not sure if I will use the rubber end's as yet but I probably will just to make it look like the front bumper. What I am currently working on is side pieces these are to fill the gap between the quarter bumpers and the side of the vehicle. Not wanting the end result to be like a hook capturing all the shrubbery I may drive through when out laning.

I painted the original front bumper and fitted the rubber end's secured with S/S bolts. I also have an A frame, I think it is a genuine Land Rover made accessory. As I said I used M12 bolts to secure the bumper and A frame. I made them myself using S/S and the head of the bolts are representative of Acorn nuts just to tidy it up a little.

What size of lights are they on the A-Frame?

They are 4". I wanted the smallest lights that were suitable for me and the 4" with 120W bulbs do the job. The bulbs I have had for some time previously fitted to another car, I just replaced the 55W bulbs in the lights.
The reason I wanted small lights was (this is my theory, not based on any research on my part) having fitted a larger through flow intercooler to aid performance I did not want the cooling airflow to the intercooler interrupted by large lights. I know that the increase in air flow from the turbo thorough the intercooler is giving the most benefit but if that air is cooled effectively it will be at its best.
The lights can come on only when the headlights are on main beam (I have a switch to allow main beam without the supplementary lights coming on) (headlights are Halogen + 120% light output) the supplementary lights are set higher than the headlights on main to pick out objects in the distance the nearside one favours the nearside to pick out the edge of the road and the offside one is set central. This set up suits me fine
