just broke my front bumper at parking speed. long story and pretty ****ed off about it. surprised to find its brittle plastic and not some kind of bendy rubber as I'd expected. Anhoo, in the market for a new bumper and offside signal lamp (orange) but I really wanted to ask if anyone knows, shall I get a bumper with the fog lights in (or driving lights or whatever those are in the bumper), is the wiring and switch already in place or do I need to run a few wires? mine originally had just blank plates.

You must mean the spoiler under the bumper, the bumper is a pretty heavy plastic covered metal lump. If you have bent that you will need to look at the crash cans too. I know this cos I just did mine on the ice:mad:

nah, this is just ahead of the offside front wheel arch and just under the headlight and repeater. will post up a pic tomorrow with the shards that broke off. really surprising.

i believe they are made from Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, it is a brittle plastic.

when i got my first job whilst still at school (about to leave into the big wide world) it was as a plastic fabricator, we once tried to repair a bumper from a car, absoloutly a pain in the arse to weld. filling and painting would be much easier!!!

what colour is the car, you might be able to get the whole lot, colour coded with fogs in for 100 quid!!!

the fog lamp wiring maybe there but you will need to have the front fogs switched on in the becm but if you only have a low line becm fitted then you will have to wire them up with a seperate switch and rewiring so not to upset the becm

cheers vogue, if i do get 'em i think'll just rewire and put in a switch as you suggest. don't even want to go near the becm!

gav, i know what you're saying. there's even one on ebay now for 45 quid. the b#tch is transporting anything here, its usually by air and then there's clearing it through customs and all.

which is why i thought of getting foglights and perhaps clear lenses etc, just to justify the airfreight. but first will have a go at repairing it as there's some places around here that might be able to do the job (patch, prime and repaint). utterly daft to use breakable rather than deforming plastic if you ask me.

ps. how do you guys put your pictures in with the text? the only option i can see is to link to a url. so i have to upload somewhere else first?

wack some classic bumper on it if i was you driveing like that..

wochya mean "driving like that"?? like a ****? well yes. :p

seen pics of your classic on here somewhere. wicked. personally think the classic is the best looking RR, followed by the P38 and downhill from there. but do you reckon that sawn-off look will work for this car?
