The MOT is due in a weeks time and just checking lights over, swapped 2 front side lights and noticed the front bumper mounted Lucas spot sealed beam unit has gone on near side
I’ve removed it but was wondering if I left the drivers fog light on would MOT man be Ok with this or do they need to be in pairs to pass
And as these are 1970’s vintage anybody use them and have you found any alternative bulbs to fit the chrome housing , I think diameter is 5 3/4”
Thanks

Not 100%, but I don't think fog lights are an MOT requirement on a vehicle that age, as they were not required at the time it was built.

the landy is 84 and didn’t have them on at time, not sure if any rule says if they are on they need to work , or would they just not test them if fitted

Different vehicle but I got pulled up on MOT for front fog lights not working. Didn’t even realise car had them, rule was (as they said to me) if fitted as standard they have to be on there working, yet vehicles without them as standard don’t require them.
What I actually did at the time was take it to different garage and it passed.
