I think my wife has got me a bullbar for my birthday. Well Ive droped enough hints at least. The only drill I have is an 18 volt cordless but Im not sure if I have to bore the bumper or not if I do is it up to it. Hopefully its the wrap around type. Any help on fitting bullbars just in case?

ive just fitted a bullbar which has a couple of U shaped lugs which fit under the bumper bolts on the topside of the bumper, and a couple of legs which stretch back along the outside of each chassis leg with a cunningly placed hole which my jate rings slide neatly through!

I dont know if they all fit like that though.

By the way, a handy bullbar-fitting-tip, i couldnt for the life of me get mine to seat correctly so I put it in place as best as I could, loosened the bolts, then gently nudged into a tree to push it home! I then killed the engine to hold it dead in place (rather than relying on the handbrake which would allow it to roll back a couple of inches) and tightened up the bolts!

First off let's just hope that you're wife gets you what you would like! (Fingers crossed).

I don't have a clue how a wrap around type bullbar fits, but the standard bullbar is held in place with 6 nuts and bolts. All you do is line it up where you want it and then drill the holes and bolt it on! Can you not borrow a more powerful drill from somewhere or at least buy one from Makro or somewhere cheap?

surely ANY bullbar designed for a landrover should utilise existing bolt holes in the chassis. or is it just me?

your drill wont manage it if you have to drill through the bumper or the chassis, get down your local B&Q and buy a leccy one and a good set of HSS drill bits :)

Cheers Im sure I could borrow a drill from work if needed. Why was it so difficult to line up Id have thought just measure to center of the bumper and work from there?
