right guys! thinking of taking the old rusty bulkhead outa the 110.. has anyone tried/done this? I'm goginto need to have the motor on the road as soon as possible so how long do you reckon the job is likley to take?? cheers
Dave

good man dave , you know it makes sense.;)
i reckon with two of us at it (yup , il get torn in as well) start friday , finish sunday evening. providing all the bits are there and we dont have to chase around after parts.
id say , depending on the cost off the bulkhead , your looking at around an extra 100 quid for bits , probably less depending on what condition the bits you have are in.
before you consider it though check the sill bars. if these need replacing then on a 5 door 110 it might be a costly repair.

also , top idea , instead of paint which can cost a bit , look into getting it galvainzed , no need to paint it then.
one of my , 'i wish id done that' hindsight thoughts.

yeah, It's going to be a summer job, I need to do it at some point I suppose. The sill covers are comming off next week, i'm not too concearned about them to be honest, I might cut them out and replace them with some metal that's a bit stronger as well... I was thinking the other day about buying a hi-lux surf....nice truck but slapped myself outa it. then thought £500 would see this bulkhed done (my only gripe with it now) the steering was a bit iffey if you remember...you said it felt like it was rear wheel steering... in actual fact the drop arm had come loose

sorted we'll have to wait for a nice dry spell though :) cheers fella! ;)

not really on about the sills Dave , I'm on about the mahoosive bits of metal they attach to.
but we will have to survey it all first just to make sure all the bits are there when we go to put it all back together.

yeah that's what I meant mate, the cover bits are a load of crap...infact they just cover the rust, I want to stick some box section in there or something equaly big n nasty :)

no still wondering where to get one from, nobber got a td5 one and had to do quite a bit of mods to it. dont mind doing the mods but need to find a cheap one coz i've got a little un on the way:)

yeah nobber just put a td5 one in his TD90, from what it lloks like there was loads of cutting and moving brackets.. looks like It'll have to be one of those tho

Ask yella disco how much he wants for his spare bulkhead, last I heard it was cheap.

Which bit gone on yours. All the tops knackered on mine. If the bottoms gone on yours and your handy at welding maybe you could make a good un out of the two.

the footwells and the corners have gone on mine, so I thought, feck it, I'll never get any money for it with the bulkhead looking like it does:D
