Hi all
I was looking into getting a bulkhead removal bar just the top bit not the hole thing but money is tight so was thinking of making one .
I looked about at some and was amazed that it was just 2 bits of angle pop riveted together
So ive come up with this frome some scrap i had at work its 5mm thick box 25x25
Do u think this whould b ok ???

Can'tsay for certain about the design, but 5mm walled box should be strong enough. Remember the bulkhead has to reduce body flex, so the lower fixing points are important. You might need diagonals.
 
I think u r talkung about a full bulkhead removal bar ...
Im talking about half removal bar like thisView attachment 125970
They're only like 100 I think I paid for mine. Worth buying the proper one, the plate ties in the rest of the bulkhead that's cut and uses steel rivets and 12 rated bolts. It's there go replace strength I'd use a designed one rarther than bodged. One continuous peice of bar like the designed one will be more strong than welded box too. Weld will be harder and more liable to snap. Up to you though. Depends on finish you want too. The kit ones leave a good one
