bulb change!

simple question..how to you get at the headlights of a defender to change bulb?
had a look but there is'nt even space for my hand in the engine compartment let alone tools and to see what im doing!
i aint knowledgeable atall when it comes to these things so forgive me!!

all help appreciated chaps!!

remove headlight

From the front.

oh yes - remove trim, remove chrome?? surround, remove headlight unit and look at rear of unit. Bulb should be held in place with a clip (unless its a sealed beam unit).

Far too complex...sell it.

I changed the bulbs in my defender not too long back, and I managed easily to get my hand in from the back. Just undone the clip, new bulb, and clip back on, took 5 mins to do both and i've got fat fingers Where abouts are you mate??

I'm just down the road and cant reach the blown halogen lamp in my kitchen ceiling kettle is on

A Haynes manual is very good tool when starting off doing jobs... covers light bulbs and more

Have you tried some sort of step or a ladder even, is your kitchen ceiling overly high :laugh::laugh:

Glad I could help mate, don't know enough about Landy's to give advice on them really, but I have changed a few bulbs in the kitchen,
