Hello- Just recieved my britpart 'sports' exhaust from Paddocks (excellent service btw!!) and apart from the straight through middle pipe, am buggered if i can tell the difference between the 'sports' rear section and the old standard one? Is it a bigger bore or summat? Am not complainin for £35 + Vat mind- was a bargain either way.. but anyone know if the rear sections any different?

yeah i've had mine fitted for nearly a year now, alot louder but does hush up alittle once you get build up on the inside. The bore did seem alittle bigger to me compared to the system i took off, but that could just be my eyes playing tricks. I don't think there is anything insid the rear box lol

Cheers chaps- Much appreciated! was considering just leaving the old box on and keeping the new un as a spare! will get it all on tomorrow now! Not expecting mega-power but like the idea of more noise!

How do Britpart qualify its a 'sports' exhaust'? I haven't seen any specifications or graphs to show the likely gains for your engine.

I assume your "sports exhaust" system is stainless steel so you will be benefiting there as they are fit & forget... normally :)

I'm glad you said normally as some cheaper makes have steel baffles inside that eventually rot

No- me neither. I presume there is some nominal power-gain from having less restricted exhaust gasses, but as i said- it's the noise am after really. Cant afford a V8 yet.

I assumed it wouldn't at £35!

The new back box was half the size of my old one when I fitted mine. I think the size is the same and they only call it a sports exhaust as it gets rid of the front silencer:) I've done away with both now and run a side exit, not much louder than the britpart box. I had to use plenty of exhaust paste to get a good seal on mine, maybe just britpart quality control.

:)

True, only as long you get their little warranty form stamped every year to show it's been checked by a garage. Who bothers with that. :)

My original exhaust lasted 11 years which I thought was good, then the back box started to break up.
Cheeky buggers didn't know that part of the deal still waiting for my original to rot off, do you think I should give it a kick or leapfrog off the tailpipes :)

If i get 12 months out of my britpart "sports exhaust" i'll be happy at the cost. Mine isn't showing any signs of rotting yet, and has been fitted nearly 12 months. You get what you pay for so at £35+vat you can't expect wonders

Got to agree with that and mine fitted very well and even comes with clamps.
£35 + vat real bargain.

Hi mate, it's a mild steel exhaust and the difference between the std and sports exhaust is merely the fact that the central section has no silencer box - it's a straight-thru' pipe.

No performance claims are made, it does sound 'fruitier' and the turbo spins up quicker so the throttle response is slightly improved, in my experience.

If you find it too noisy, just bear in mind they do settle down once they've been used a bit.

Got it fitted- went on easy- clamps were included. Not going to notice any power gain now (if there is any) as changed the turbo for one that actually works whilst i was at it! Hope it doesn't ettle down too much- rather like the noise!

Straight through pipe next then:)
