Hello,

Just joined on Landyzone with my new-ish project - a 1985 ex MOD Ninety, and working through its various electrical faults. At some point in the past someone seems to have severed the loom to the rear of the chassis just as it exits the chassis section leaving the wires hanging loose out the back. I've been checking the wires against the diagram but could do with some confirmation from other members:

From what I can tell, the loom is supposed to first run up to the right, where the lighting connections would presumably sit just behind the stop/tail light, nice and protected. Connections from there could run back down and across, forming a parelell circuit with the lights on the other side. Assuming that's correct (?) would the loom for the nato socket 'normally' be hooked up in the same place, i.e. behind the right stop lamp?

There are also some circuits on which I am unclear. So far I have identified the wires for:

- stop light
- tail light
- indicator
- fog light
- convoy

It looks like there are also circuits for blackout stop lamps and reverse lights. I hadn't actually heard of a blackout stop lamp - is this an additional light unit, or possibly integrated into the convoy lamp? I also had it in my head that the stop and reverse light where the same light on these, but the diagram seems to imply two different lights? I'm aware the stop/tail is the same light with two circuits.

As for the nato socket, I assume that it connects in pararell into the same wiring which supplies the rear vehicle lights, with the addition of the extra earths and auxiliary supply?

As it stands my plan going forward is to:

- Bring the loom up into the interior, just behind the tail light
- Use some 3 way connections to hook up each light power supply to the right light, the continuing supply to the left light, and the supply to the trailer socket.
- As earth connections seem a bit spotty, thinking to also run some black cables straight from the battery out to the back to supply a solid earth connection to either side.
- Cross fingers and hope the wiring inside the chassis is not too close to dying. I'm getting good voltage readings at the back but I'm aware that could be misleading!

Embarassingly I have never actually had to use a trailer socket before lol, but as far as I can see it would make sense that it is just wired in (in parelell) to the rear lighting circuits). Also pretty unclear as to what circuit is supposed to trigger the trailer light on the dash - seems to be powered via the hazard unit/flasher?

Very much hoping someone with a working landy of this age can come along and clear things up for me a bit - hopefully I'm not too far off! Thank you for any help at all!
