I have a swb 2a with lwb front brakes. They work well but when ive been through mud and water off road the car pulls to the left.Have driven with brakes on to dry them out .Eventually they start working but that could be a day or two latter.
Shoes, cylinders, all pretty new.Thought prehaps the shoe springs were shot so fitted new ones and yesterday had a greenlaning day and doing it again. What am i doing wrong here?

With Drums you should strip and clean them out as soon as you can afer getting them muddy. My 90 rear shoes lasted a couple of hundred miles after a serious off road day at a quarry sand and grit destroyed them and they were only a few weeks old. worth a strip and clean for sure. Jai

They all do that sir! I find they usually dry out after left foot breaking for a few hundred meters though. Are you sure there is no oil leaking from the hub seals or any of the brake hydraulic cylinders?

Yer they're all ok took them all off last time and cleaned them.I was expecting every drum to be full of crap and the front n/s to be clean, but they weren't that bad.
Gonna give it another go today

On mine there are 4 holes drilled through the brake drums just inboard of the braking surface. Have you checked that those are not gummed up?
