Brake Servo Upgrade

Hey lads,

200tdi 110 (1991) drums on rear

I find the brakes a bit weak, no leaks, no spongy pedal, no extended travel etc etc. it just takes more effort than it should to brake firmly.

I rebuilt this 110 recently so it has had new front pads, (front calipers are fine, not seized or anything), S/S Brake Lines all round, new shoes and cylinders on the back, all adjusted properly so all in good condition.

After talking to a friend about it he reckons it has a smaller servo than it should for a 200tdi 110, looks like this http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3132/2600197657_dfa0b67f71.jpg

he handed me a larger diameter one (i think from a later 110) and said fit that as it will reduce the effort needed to stop the 110. all that makes sense to me, but the problem i have is this newer servo, where you bolt the M/cylinder to the servo, rather than the studs being horizontal, they sit at a 45deg angle, which im assuming is not suitable.

any suggestions as to what M/Cylinder is needed or whether this servo swap is more hassle than its worth?

is upgrade necessary or just fix the issue you have either poor vac pump or servo or pipe in between

hmmm, might be easier to check the vac pump and pipe first.. whats the best way to test for leaks?
