I know how to test them when they are fitted to the vehicle but is there any way to test them off the vehicle?

Picked up a full 300tdi brake pedal assembly at the malvern spares day as it was cheap enough it was worth the gamble and unlike a lot of the others looked in reasonable condition and didn't have the rusty paint stripped spot at the bottom of the servo. This is for my station wagon rebuild that is long way from being complete and does not easily run. Short term I want to get the wheels turning and brakes working so it can at least be towed (short distances).

Is there any way to bench test the servo and master before going to the effort of fitting and bleeding? I am rebuilding callipers to fit, and am converting the rear drums to discs so am a way off bleeding up the system to test. I am copying the setup i have on my current 110 so know the system will work in terms of the match up of parts.

For the servo I recon connect to vacuum pump [ the one on your truck] and listen for air leaks, you may be able to put a rod in the master hole and feel movement.
As for master put some fluid in reservoir and pump rod by hand. Fluid should exit [ careful where it goes] This will at least prove master cylinder not stuck.
