Hi all, haven't been on here for a while but hoping for a bit of advice.
I'm wanting to replace most of the steel brake lines and flexi hoses to the rear of my L322 but am having problems getting the shields off without damaging them. They appear to be held on by plastic headed screws with allen heads which cannot take the torque so the tool just rotates uselessly in spite of using the correct size of key.
Any one got any thoughts?
I've just done the lower front suspension bushes and balljoints on the four lower arms. What a balls ache that was too!

You don't have great deal of choice if they won't come out. Drill the heads off and see what you have underneath could be a ball ache of a job.

I've never seen under an L322 but have come across similar fixings in my job.
Does the 'screw' look as if it's got an outer ring?
If so it could be a screwvit that is just pushed in and then rarely screws out again.
Try a pigsfoot tool, or one of those cheap nail removers that used to come with a cheap screwdriver set and see if you can lever the screws up a bit then turn them with pliers.
If that doesn't work try knocking a head off with a chisel or sharp screwdriver.
If that doesn't work get the drill out.
