Does anyone have a fix for the sliders on the front brake calipers ?

I know you can get replacement sliders, but the actual brake caliper where the slider fits into has corroded, and new calipers are an arm and a leg, was hoping someone may have a solution.

I did consider having them drilled out and tapped, then screwing a new liner into for the sliders to fit into.
Any ideas ?

Rob.

about £120 including vat,you could pay half of that sleeving carrier but insurance would be nullified if in accident

I was quoted 140 plus each, i need four, £672, hence i wondered if there was another solution.

Where did you get £120inc from, it is more reasonable than i been quoted. still £480 though if there is a better solution.

If no better suggestions then i will have to fork out for the new calipers, was just hoping......

I presume you mean the carriers and not the callipers. Reducing the wall thickness of the carrier by as much as you would need to to drill and tap a sleeve in is not recommended. They are an high stress item, why do you think the callipers are £50.00 and the carriers are £130.00

Have had seized carriers on a number of motors.... a combination of heat and lubricant will eventually free them off.
If it doesn't work...try more of the above
