boost gauge on 300tdi

hi just joined forum. just got new turbo for my 300 defender. hoping to up the boost to 1 bar. got boost valve & gauge. can anybody tell me if i can fit gauge straight to inlet manifold for a better reading?

Copy and Paste to the defender section and you might get some advice...welcome btw!!
