I have the type pictures below & I seem to be unable to get it to work correctly.
with the key in, I can rotate the lock so that the claw mates with the staple that is attached to the underside of the bonnet...however the barrel does not turn freely of the lock body at any point to actually lock it & withdraw the key.
i am able to perform the same process just by turning the whole assembly with my fingers!
The outer body of the lock is fixed to the slam panel & does not move at all whilst turning the rest of it...its almost like the barrel is fused to the outer casing...:confused:

any ideas?

Oooo I got one of them!!

I think its just been added on to ensure the bonnet doesn't fly up when you hit Mach 4 (18mph). I don't even have a key...same as yours, i just turn it until it secures the bonnet down.

Hello there :5bdriving:

I am looking for the exact same bonnet lock wich are usually mounted on Serie III V8

So far I didn't find any of them on the internet :(

Would any of you know a place where I could get one of these ?

Thanks !

Needs barrel and extension off existing lock- my 90 same

Never even seen one of those but I might have to get one now I have. Would hide mine though because I think it's an eye sore.
They were fitted to the Land Rover 110 stage one V8 when they first launched them. The model before they started calling 110's and 90's Defender.
