Bolt-on panel sealant for front wings.

I think I will be removing one of the wings off my 300Tdi for repairs & was wondering what we us to re-seal it when I bolt it back on?
There is a roll of butyl strip dia 8mm on the 'bay. Suitable?

You could use that, I personally use Sikaflex adhesive sealant for panel bonding.

U-POL Tiger seal takes some beating, sikaflex is also good used alot on caravans.
Both £7 - £8 a tube

do yu really want an adhesive there? surely yu may need to remove them again?

DAP Seal-n-Peel is supposed to be good - if yu can find a source in the UK?

The old rubbery black strip on a roll is the best stuff.... that's why Land Rover used it

Hmmmm....I can find a slight fault in that reasoning

if you MUST then sika (or any of its cheaper clones) is great...maybe a little too great as you will have trouble ever un sticking...
...you wont go far wrong with what is known as "ribbon bedding sealant", the stuff sold by caravan spares merchants,normally referred to as W4 and rated by width.
